Now show me someone who has battled with their weight who has not thought of this. Frequently, you see people eating more then you. Sometimes eating lots more – every day. Eating anything and everything they want. Sitting on the couch and just pigging out without a care in the world. It’s not fair!

Here you are, counting calories, starving yourself, sweating away at the gym, trying to follow the rules in order to be the size you want to be, and these people are just going about their life looking all perfect. I mean we all have done a little hating. Right?

Oh, and then then you come across the fat shamers and people who treat you differently because of your size. I mean they really do think it is as simple as eating less, cutting out certain foods, exercising more and drinking more water. They can’t get why you are not like them and you can’t understand why you can’t be like them.

Well I have been there and done that many times. Then one day I decided that I was going to learn what it was like to be a naturally thin person. So before you think I am crazy, just know that I had to spend a long time learning about the power of the mind and looking into the science of belief to find out what really works.

It all started after Christmas many moons ago. It was that time again, New Years Day, a convenient time for new resolutions.

Yet another year had gone by and I had not lost the weight I swore I was going to lose at the beginning of last year. Well not just the beginning but all those Mondays too. You know what it’s like…

You say, “Monday I’ll start so I will enjoy this cake and ice cream today”.


But this year was different. This year the mere thought of a diet and exercise program was too much to handle. I mean I had been there so many times before, only to feel like a complete failure when I gave up yet again.

Nope that was it. I decided then and there that I was never going to diet again! There had to be a better way. A long lasting way that didn’t make me feel like a piece of crap for not having the will power to stick it out in order to reach my goal.

How? Well I was going to become naturally thin!

But how, you ask?

We are these amazingly complicated beings that honestly no one will ever fully understand. With this in mind, I decided that I was going to work out how to be a naturally thin person.

Oh but that will never work right?! I mean what about genetics?

Well the funny thing is, there is scientific proof that shows our  DNA doesn’t hold all the answers to how we ended up the way we  are. Plus, can you honestly tell me that there is no one in your family who is naturally thin?

I mean, go back a few generations. Was everyone overweight? Probably not.

Let’s face it. There are people in our family who are naturally thin. There were generations before us who were in a perfectly normal weight range their whole lives. There was not a gym on every corner. They didn’t have a new diet book come out every week as the answer to their prayers. There were no magic pills promising to melt off all their excess fat. They were just naturally thin.

Well people have evolved mentally a lot over the last few generations with the advance of technology, but our basic needs have and will continue to remain the same.

It is like how you can use the same marketing techniques from 200 years ago and they still work, and the same thing is true with your body. Yes, we have evolved as people but we still consume our food in the same way. We use our mouths and teeth and tongue to consume food, we chew it, we swallow it, our body digests it in the same was as our ancestors did thousands of years ago, and we get rid of it in the same way as we always did – only the toilets have evolved.

So why do we believe nowadays that it is in our DNA to be bigger than what the previous generations have been?

What started out as…

“I am going to eat what I want when I want and still be thin”


“I can eat what I want when I want and still be thin, but the what, the why and the how are a little DIFFERENT now”

You see I bet you are sitting there thinking…

“Yeah baby! I can sit here eating all the cake and chocolate I want and still be thin! ”

Well that was my aim too. Seriously it was! But as time went on, I discovered a few things about the way I treated myself and my body on this journey, that is a lot different than before.

It is time to open your mind to the possibilities and begin to embrace the fact that you can be a naturally thin person.

It is going to take three things…


  1. A change in mindset
  2. Clearing out old beliefs
  3. Taking action consistently

Honestly, I am still surprised daily by the way I got here,and how I am able to remain here. I still have a ways to go on my journey, however I have managed to conquer my 30 year food addiction, get off all of the medications I was taking due to my weight, drop 35 kilos (70+ pounds), and I am achieving fitness goals that I never thought possible.

More than all of the things that I achieved for myself…
