We hear it all the time. “It’s in my genetics.” or, “Yep you can’t escape it, you were just born to be big.”
I mean what is the point of even trying if you are destined to be big and there is nothing you can do about it? I mean, let’s just throw in the towel now!
Do you really believe that?
Total and utter BS.
Yes, there may be some things you can’t change.
For example, I will never be petite. No tiny little body for me and that is because I was simply not born that way. Not sure if there are any petite people in my family but anyway, I don’t have a small bone structure and that is OK. I was born with a body that is designed for strength and endurance which is just fine by me.
Was I born to be heavy?
See heavy in my case was a belief pattern and a lifestyle choice.
Same goes for you.
Just because you might have a heavy family, doesn’t me you have to be heavy.
Think about it with me for a second…
Is everyone in your family overweight? Probably not everyone.
If you went back a few generations, were all your ancestors over weight? No, they were not. If you look hard enough you will find people with the same genes as you who are perfectly normal weights and sizes.
Sometimes the way you are comes from firstly believing that you will be that way. I mean have you ever been told that you were just born big and there’s nothing you can do about it?
A second factor that plays into your size is the lifestyle you have been raised with, or have adopted when you got out on your own. If you eat the same as those in your family who are heavy, then of course you will follow in their footsteps.
If you have not had a chance to look into it yet, there is a book that tells the science behind our choices called “The Biology of Belief” by Bruce Linton.
It is our belief system more than anything that shapes us and just because your family may be big, it doesn’t mean you are stuck in that size forever.
Start to pay attention to the habits, thought patterns and beliefs of your family. Chances are it is not your DNA that is the biggest factor determining the size you are. Once you break that belief, you can create a new family legacy!
